European regulations require that the PPD (UVA protection factor) of sunscreens is equal to or greater than 1/3 of the SPF. Thus, this sunscreen has an actual PPD of at least 20.)

A very popular choice with our customers, Avene Very High Protection Emulsion is a cosmetically elegant and photostable sunscreen. Avene Very High Protection Emulsion offers superior UVB and UVA protection through the patented sunscreen filters, Tinosorb M and Tinosorb S. Tinosorb is a half-physical, half-chemical sunscreen filter and is substantially less irritating than sunscreens containing Mexoryl (such as found in LaRoche Posay sunscreens.) Also, because Tinosorb is water soluble, the formulas tend to be lighter and more cosmetically appealing. Avene Very High Protection Emulsion also contains a new generation of patented "MPI-SORB" and Pre-Tocopheryl Anti-Free Radical protection. This sunscreen is perfect for extreme exposure or for those suffering with sun sensitivity or hyperpigmentation problems.

Avene Very High Protection Emulsion is non-greasy and absorbs rapidly, drying to a soft-matte finish with no white residue on most complexions. It is non-comedongenic and recommended by the manufacturer as suitable for oily skin due to the addition of pumpkin seed extract, which regulates sebum secretion. The benefit of the pumpkin seed extract is that it is rich in essential fatty acids (EFA’s). These EFAs provide anti-inflammatory properties and regulate sebum (oil) production. If you are too oily, it will reduce the over activity of the sebaceous glands; if you are too dry, the EFAs will bump up the oil production of these oil producing glands. In addition, pumpkin seeds contain high amounts of minerals, especially zinc. Zinc is imperative to the healing process of the skin and is a fantastic antioxidant. All skin types will love this sunscreen's finish. Since it is light, if your skin needs more moisture, simply apply a moisturizer underneath.

Directions for Use:
Apply 1/4 tsp. as last step in your morning facial routine. Repeat the application regularly (ideally every 2 hours) during intense exposure and swimming.
